Missouri Pacific and St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern Maps (Overview)


This would be before they acquired the western part of the C&EI that allowed them to run trains to Chicago. (L&N got the eastern part.) At least some some of the tendrils into southern Illinois were to access coal mines.

 …yes, I believe MOPAC had agreements with SP, WP, D&RGW to run passenger trains on their connected tracks … the timetables could then be setup showing the MOPAC trains running “continuously” to the west coast. I zoomed in the western section and you can better see the other railroads named.
