Caryville, Florida: Bridge #54 over Choctawhatchie River and Bridge #54 Bridge Tender’s House, Louisville & Nashville Railroad. L&N’s Bridge #54 over the Choctawhatchie River at Caryville, Florida had Pile Trestle Approaches, a Thru Draw Span and a Thru Truss Span. The metal spans in this photo were constructed in 1909 and the pile trestle approaches in 1914. The Bridge Tender’s House, of which “Part blown away during storm. Repaired”, was constructed in 1884. Bridge #54 was photographed on 16 February 1917 and the Bridge Tender’s House on 20 February 1918.
