Brian Edmonson posted 10/29/16- A rear of a Chicago bound Amtrak train crosses over the Dan Ryan Expressway. If it was a minute earlier it would had been a Over/Under/Over/Double Under! [CTA Green on top and CTA Red up the middle of the Dan Ryan Expressway] |
This is just west of the Englewood crossing. Many of the steel girder railroad bridges over expressways in the Chicago area would be considered big bridges in the rural areas.
The RTA Green Line is "double elevated" to go over the elevated railroad. And the expressway is submerged below street level.

The Green Line itself crosses the Dan Ryan using a trestle on top of a trestle a little north of here.
