Judging from the concrete footing pads you can still see on the east side, it appears the wood trestle was replaced with a steel trestle. I assume the truss was also upgraded because this one looks rather lightweight. The Cloverleaf was originally built as a narrow gauge railroad through here.
Arthur Shale also commented on this photo in a
posting: "There's a couple of photos from the early 1900s, after the pony trusses went in, but before the steel trestles."
