Note the bridge for a quarry conveyor just downstream of the IHB bridge. According to Historic Aerials, it was installed between 2002 and 2005. And removed between 2007 and 2009. So it took just a few years to dig the hole we now see between the Des Plaines River and the Sanitary and Ship Canal. Once again, we see evidence that the birds-eye views are about a 10-year "time machine."
