| Steve Sass posted After our visit to Roosevelt Dam about a week ago the operators started spilling due to spring melt 5 days ago[, May 10, 2023]. We had a very wet winter in Arizona with record snow pack. The day we were there I was wondering if they ever used the spillways. They added 17 feet (5m) to the dam after original construction due to underestimating the maximum inflow from snow pack. Good thing they did that after this last winter |
