I was going to skip yet-another-trestle in the Dakotas until I noticed it was CB&Q.
It was a wooden trestle that was built in 1890 and filled in 1899. It was on a branch that went north from CB&Q's mainline from Edgemont to Deadwood. The branch had spurs to Hot Springs, Keystone, and Spearfish. I wonder what type of mines CB&Q was serving.

Identified as the CBQ railroad bridge on the line between Edgemont, South Dakota and Deadwood. "CBQ" was the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. The railroad entered South Dakota from Chadron and served the Black Hills area. |
It was 700' long and 126' high. 240,000 feet of lumber was used to build it. [

320,000 cubic yards of earth were hauled 1.5 miles up a 2% grade with 1,486 trains of 15 cars each to make a fill that was 380' at the base and 28' at the top.
