1927+1957 Kimberling City Bridge over Table Rock Lake on White River

(Bridge Hunter broke Mar 22, 2023; no Historic Bridges; Satellite, 101 photos)

"A bridge was first built in 1927, but in 1957 the Table Rock Dam on the White River was constructed and a new bridge was built because of the volume of water contained behind the new dam. The original bridge of Kimberling City is still beneath the waves of Table Rock Lake to this day." [BetterBronson]

The high bridge was built because of the Table Rock Dam.

A flood in the Spring of 1957 inundated the old bridge before they were able to remove it. The lake filled in three days even though the experts predicted three years. "The massive amount of water went over the center destroying forms and equipment and delayed the completion of the dam for 1 year."

In 2017 the bridge was closed because of flooding.
