1933 Vachel Lindsay Bridge over Lake Springfield in Springfield, IL
HistoricBridges "A view showing the gap at the center of each arch span, showing that each half of the arch is structurally independent; a cantilever, not a true arch." The bridge is 1,398' (426m) long with 10 main spans of 110' (30.5m) each. It has 11 approach spans. "It is one of the finest and most historically significant concrete bridges in Illinois."
Timothy Mabe posted Construction of the Vachel Lindsay Bridge at Lake Springfield, circa 1933. HistoricBridges has a cropped version of this photo.
