"The dam is 3.5 miles [5.6km] long and 92 feet [28m] high, and controls a drainage area of 386 square miles through the use of five gated sluices and six 25-foot by 32-foot tainter[Parker]/radial gates."

I was surprised by the length of the dam, so I took a closer look at a satellite image. The part that went east of the spillway to Horseshoe Road was obvious. Then I noticed that the western part goes North along US-23 and then turns west up by Wiley Road

In fact, US-23 appears to be an emergency spillway.

There are campgrounds in the floodplain. So I hope they do a good job of getting the campers evacuated before the grounds become flooded.

The spillway capacity is 96kcfs. [delaware-county]

A satellite image caught the dam with three of its sluice gates open.

Three gates is the max flow I saw looking at Google Earth images. When the flow is smaller, we can see the wall for the stilling basin.

It looks like the reservoir was holding flood waters in Spring 2019.

And again in Spring 2020.
