Jennifer Woodman posted ten photos with the comment: "Final exploration stop was at Well's Bridge in Athens. This five-panel pin-connected Pratt through-truss was built in 1904 and carries Marl Lake Road over Nottawa Creek, also called the Nottawassepee River. It sits right on the county line between Calhoun County to the north and Branch County to the south, just over 1500 feet from the point where Branch, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, and St. Joseph Counties all meet. The bridge is exactly on the county line between Calhoun and Branch Counties, and for decades neither side could agree whose responsibility it was. Two counties, one very deteriorating bridge, and decades of disputed ownership that meant neither side paid for repairs. The steel framework is still very striking and the surrounding views are beautiful."
