$169m North Bypass Channel and V-Pier Bridges in Fort Worth, TX

(Satellite, they are digging a channel just east of the railroad to help keep flood water off the peninsula.)

The Walsh Group posted
Walsh Construction is set to build the $169 million North Bypass Channel in Fort Worth, Texas.
The 3,900-foot [1.2km] channel will help divert floodwaters around downtown Fort Worth, strengthening flood protection and long-term resilience for the surrounding community.

But before they dig the channel, they are building the three bridges that will be needed to access the peninsula. It is cheaper to build the bridges on dry land. This is the Main Street Bridge.

It looks like it is a poured concrete bridge.

"The North Bypass Channel Feature will restore flood protection levels on the Trinity River near downtown Fort Worth and its upstream and downstream river segments. Restoring the flood protection level is needed due to development within the Trinity River watershed (drainage area) since the original levees and floodway were constructed in the 1950s and 1960s."

The northern part of the above diagram does not look correct. I'd expect a thick dark-blue line east of Calhoun Street that dumps directly into the river rather than a thin line that goes North along the river. This following diagram confirms that the above diagram is not correct. It also shows that $169m is a fraction of the plan's cost.

The above map shows that Main Street is one of three bridges that will be needed.

"The signature V-Pier bridges that will span the future bypass channel were designed by the City of Fort Worth and were built and managed by TxDOT. The bridges will allow traffic to enter Panther Island from the north and west. The bridges are located at White Settlement Road, Henderson Street and N. Main Street. They have been artfully designed with the pedestrian experience and mass transportation in mind."
[I wonder what the cost penalty is for poured-concrete construction compared to the usual precast-girders-on-pile-piers construction. The V-piers are prettier.]

Here is another diagram of the project. It includes the Samuels Avenue Dam, but has the mistake of not including the pump station.

"A stormwater pump station will be constructed on the northeast side of the interior area near the TRWD gate The station will be designed and built by USACE and maintained and operated by TRWD. During major flood events, the isolation gates will be closed and excess water will be moved through the pump station. The station will house four pumps, with one spare pump."
[Why does the photo show seven pumps instead of the claimed five pumps?]

It took them over a decade to build the Henderson Street Bridge.
