Zhivopisny Bridge In Moscow

The main span is 409.5m (1/4 mile) long and the total length is 1.46km (0.9 mile). The pylon is 120m (400') high. It has 78 stay cables. [structurae]

A title for a bridge normally says "over" a river. This satellite image illustrates why I used the word "along" for the title of this bridge.

Zhivopisny Bridge  is a cable-stayed bridge that spans Moskva River in north-western Moscow, Russia. It is the first cable-stayed bridge in Moscow. Opened on 27 December 2007 as a part of Krasnopresnensky avenue. It is also the highest cable-stayed bridge in Europe.  The author of the project is the architect Nikolay Shumakov.

The structure hanging from the top of the arch was to be a restaurant. But that did not happen because of fire safety concerns. [rusmania]

The above photo taught me that there are two cables leaving from each anchor along  the top of the arch. There are very few photos of the side of the bridge. But this one confirms that each anchor near the top has a cable that goes to the distant part of the deck and another that goes to the middle part. The lower anchors on the arch have just one cable that goes to the near part of the deck.
