Today's Throwback Thursday photo features Bridge 16, North of Sheffield, looking East. Taken in July 1977.

Jennifer Francque Santore: Wow. I def remember. And I specifically remember thinking we were all going to die. Those missing planks !! The anxiety 😬🤣😬🤣

Jim Pepper: It seems like by then, those bridges were rated at 6 tons... guessing that tandem is empty LOL?

Tracy Parish: I don't know if this was the one, but there was a high bridge at the canal where they used to swim and someone dared my mom to dive off the bridge so she successfully did it. Then her friend said "If that little twerp can do it I can," and he got his head stuck in the mud! My mom loved to dive from high places and could dive so shallow that she didn't even look like she got wet!

At least the canal is not covered with algae.
