1930-1966 Sidaway Avenue Footbridge in Cleveland, OH

If you are here because of "Grain Elevator -- Olney, IL," then you need to go there.

The 680' (207m) long bridge has a main span of 400' (122m). It was abandoned in 1966 when it was vandalized. [Bridge Hunter]

1. General view of bridge looking north. This is the only suspension bridge in Cleveland. It was designed by Wilbur J. Watson and Associates, Consulting Engineers. Sections of the Wooden deck are missing, and the bridge is no longer used. - Sidaway Avenue Footbridge, Jackowo & Garden Valley neighborhood Vicinity, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, OH

An autumn visit to Cleveland, Ohio's derelict and abandoned Sidaway Bridge, a former pedestrian suspension bridge that once connected two neighborhoods while crossing over the Kingsbury Run on the city's East Side. The rusting metal beams, choked out by the dying back vines of thick summer overgrowth made this an interesting shoot, though this old bridge has something to offer in every season. Enjoy the view and have a great Friday out there, wherever you may be! -Mr. P.
