Bob Featherstone posted This is a hydroelectric station on the Kanawha River in West Virginia. When it was originally built at the end of the 19th century, the electric furnaces for the adjacent ferro-alloy plant were close-coupled to the generators with large copper bus work. The furnaces which are long gone, were right on the river over the hydro station water passages!

Several sources named this facility the Hawks Nest Hydro. But since
Hawks Nest Dam is just a little upstream from here, I used the name from this source, Glen Ferris Dam, to avoid confusion with Hawks Nest Dam.
