Dennis DeBruler commented on the above post This appears to be the first bridge across the river for the UP/Missouri Pacific Railroad. A second bridge has been added to allow a double-track route. Civil War historians say the six-span Osage Bridge was destroyed in October 1864 by Confederate Forces - along with other impressive railroad bridges - during a last ditch foray into Missouri.
