The Monongahela Railroad was a shortline jointly owned by Pennsy and Pittsburgh & Lake Erie (P&LE) to access the coal mines in the area. The P&LE was controlled by the NYC. Later, the B&O acquired a one-third ownership. [

posted five photos with the comment: "The Monongahela Railway bridge by Pricketts Fort along the scenic Monongahela River in Fairmont, WV. Due to the conditions of the ties I would not recommend walking it. However the
bridge in the background is now part of the Mon River Trail and provides a great view of this bridge."

The girder bridge was a B&O bridge. The tunnel is in the bottom half of this excerpt.
