I was going to pass on yet another concrete girder bridge until I saw that cut in the background. I don't remember seeing a vertical embankment that high before. That cut must be through some hard, competent rock. Many cuts through rock have setbacks. The good news is that the rock reduces the amount of earth that had to be removed. The bad news is that a lot of blasting was needed.
