Twin Turntable Roundhouses

I've seen yards with two or more roundhouses. But I didn't know twin turntable roundhouses existed. Since they are out east or in Europe, I'm not going to analyze which railroads owned these. I'm just saving the rather neat pictures.

(Update: Evidently, the above turntables were in Germany. The view in the linked picture is from the throat rather than to the throat so the building in the track area is on the opposite side of the photo.)

Ernie's comment:
Heres another that I have lost memory of where it was located ?Buddy of mine a couple years ago refreshed my memory.maybe sommebody remembers ?Rare to have two turntables & roundhouses.
According to Life Magazine, it's Washington DC Union Station between Union Station & DC/MD State Line, Washington, District of Columbia, DC otherwise known as the Ivy City Roundhouse.

John Smith reposted William's KAER photo. He did add the date 1977 and this aerial photo. (HistoricalAerials used to mark them for non-commercial use. It is rather obvious they did not take these pictures.)

  1. A group of us are trying to prevent twin turntables at Broadmeadow, NSW, Australia from destruction. Do you know if there are any other remaining twin turntables?
