VVRR: Vermilion Valley Railroad/Big4/P&E

I learned just this week about the Vermilion River and some of its bridges in the Danville, IL area. The VVRR is indeed a shortline, just six miles long. It is a remnant of the Peoria & Eastern route of the Big Four that used to go between Peoria and Indianapolis.

In addition to a couple of industries near Olin, IN, it operates a full-service locomotive shop. The shop provides heavy maintenance on locomotives used by its owner, Indiana Boxcar Corporation. It also services locomotives for third parties. [IndianaBoxcar]

I assume their "backshop" is this red building because of all the locomotives parked in the vicinity. I wonder how many of those locomotives are to be repaired and how many are "parts."

Pulling a bad main generator with big hook Erwin on the Vermilion Valley RR in Indiana. With Erwin's help, the fellas from the VV are seen yanking a bad main generator out of one of their Geeps and transferring it onto a flatbad for rebuilding somewhere down the road.
IBCX's "Erwin" the big hook spent most of it's life on the Clinchfield RR (later CSX) at Erwin, TN, but now belongs to the V V RR/IBCX, and is still very useful to the RR. 3/30/2013

Vermilion Valley RR is seen lugging in an mty unit crude oil train, freshly delivered by the CSX, at Danville, IL. Somehow CSX got both buffer cars next to each other (seen behind green V V caboose), I thought that was odd...The 8310 still had Christmas wreaths and stars from our Christmas photo shoot. 12/12/2015
Dennis DeBruler Does that mean that VV was going to do maintenance work on all of those tank cars?
Junior Hill Dennis DeBruler They were storing the whole train until it was needed
