B&O Curtis Yard

Ken Durkel posted
A transfer run of empty hoppers from Kirk Yard to Chessie's Curtis Yard, circa 1989-1991. Taken at Clark Road. 1st shot, crossing over Clark Road on the way out of Kirk Yard.
This comment raised the question of the location of Curtis Yard. It is south of Kirk yard on the other side of the NS/NYC/Lake Shore & Michigan + CSX/Chessie/B&O corridor.

2nd, now down on the Gary City Track,
crossing Clark Road, the end of the train passes.
The crossing of the above photo is marked with a blue rectangle and the crossing in this photo is marked by an orange rectangle. The train essentially did a U-turn to use the EJ&J overpass bridge that we see in many of the Nero Junction pictures to cross the mainline tracks corridor between the two yards. The yard is long and skinny. It looks like it had four tracks on the west end but the shorter middle two tracks have been removed leaving two long tracks.

A westbound Chessie, presumably a local out of Curtis Yard in Gary, Indiana, makes it's way down the old B&O passenger main in Gary, having been routed off the main at NE Tower at Pine. Summer of fall of 1986.
Chad Quick Nice catch! There wasn’t a lot of traffic on this line which, as you mentioned was the former passenger line to Chicago
