Building a Cat 797 Dump Truck, Time Lapse

A time-lapse video first building the main module of a Cat 797 in Decatur, IL, then putting the pieces together at a mine with at least one big crane and several small cranes.

In the plant they use robots for welding the frame, but humans for spray painting. This is interesting because spray painting was one of the first types of job that got converted to robots.

At the mine, it looks like the big crane was moving back and forth between helping to build the body and the dump bed. (Notice the dump bed construction in the background on the right.)

Is that two V-8's geared to a common shaft at the bottom?

Update: today seems to be a "Cat" day. Mike Strain posted a question about which railroads serve which Cat plants and pictures of equipment loaded on flat cars. Fortunately, it is a public group so you should be able to read all of the answers and see the pictures.
