Chicago, Danville & Vincennes

I was trying to find the railroad that became the north/south part of the Kankakee Belt Route and found an 1870 Map of the Chicago, Danville & Vincennes. (The north/south route was Danville and Indiana Harbor.) I could not find many of the towns on the 1870 map on contemporary maps, but I found enough towns to conclude that this route became part of the Chicago & Eastern Illinois.

The 1870 map is interesting and saving that link is the main purpose of this posting. It has the older names for the routes that existed. Has dotted lines for some proposed routes. And some of the routes that exist in 1928 are not even a gleam in someones eye.
