This picture was taken on the IC's Birmingham District, near Haleyville, Al. on the route used by the City of Miami.

The Bridge Hunter link at the top accesses an unusually long description of the bridge and some construction photos.

Its rail was 187 feet above the creek with a length of 1,231 feet. It was owned by Norfolk Southern when it was dismantled in 1996 because a 14-year old fell 160' in 1993. He survived but had debilitating injuries. His father sued even though the son was clearly trespassing. "The trestle went into service in early 1908. The route on which the trestle was built was the major carrier of rail traffic between Haleyville, AL and Corinth, MS. The line also carried passenger trains, primarily travelers from Miami to Chicago - most famously, Illinois Central's legendary City of Miami streamliner crossed the bridge." [Bridge Hunter]
