Norfolk Southern Trestle South of Delphi, Indiana. This Is In The Same Vicinity Where Ground Was Broken for the Railroad July 22, 1853 with A Host of Community Notables Present Including Canal Contractor Reed Case, Vine Holt, Thomas Haugh, David Rogers Harley, Daniel Baum, C. Vandeventer, Mr. McRea, Mr., Bolyan, Mr. Merritt, Mr. Saxton, and many others. --Dora Thomas Mayhill, Postal History, 1954.
Mark Alan Smith The body of water is the Deer Creek. Daniel Baum and his family settled along this area in 1825 coming from Chilicothe, OH.

Mark Alan Smith Yes it did. There is a Canal Interpretive Center at Canal Park to tell that story.
