Iowa Northern Railway "was formed in 1984 following the liquidation of the assets of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad Company." [
About] The branch to Oelwein goes to Waterloo. After C&NW obtained Chicago & Great Western, the C&NW rather aggressively abandoned the CGW. But IANR saved that GTW branch, including
the bridge over the Cedar River. The isolated branch on the west side of the map was another Rock Island branch.
For people who like pictures of sheet metal, they have a page of
locomotive photos. But I enjoyed
the page of some of the industries they serve.
