There are only 7 covered railroad bridges still standing in the world, and New Hampshire is home to five with the Pier Bridge being the longest at 228 feet. The Pier bridge is just a few miles down the road which follows the Sugar River, and these two bridges would be a awesome sight to see such rare railroad bridges in such good condition.

It "is the only surviving covered railroad bridge in the nation with laminated wood-plank arches placed between the double lattice trusses on each side of the bridge." The laminated arches are 5' (1.5m) high.

North of Newport is the Corbin Covered Bridge. Erected in 1843 and replicated in 1994. [plaque]

This map labels the route as Claremont and Concord. According to Photo 2, that is wrong for two reasons. It was chartered as Concord & Claremont in 1848, and it was acquired by the Boston & Maine Railroad in 1887.
