Twice within a week I have seen bridges over a Black River. The first one was in
Port Huron, MI. This crossing uses four bridges because it uses islands to get across the Mississippi.

From east to west.

Evidently this bridge has been changing. It once was a swing bridge.
Around seven years ago it was a plain steel girder bridge with a couple of through spans for higher clearance.
Around a year ago there was some construction activity.
Mississippi East
Mississippi West
Note all of the high rail vehicles on the bridge and island. I assume they are doing some sort of construction. I don't think it would take that many people to do an inspection.
I wonder if the swing span is closed because this local is headed towards the river.

This must have been a predecessor bridge.
