Historic Bridge explains that it is not structurally an arch bridge. It is a concrete-T bridge like the Derby Street Bridge. The arches are mostly aesthetic.

I noticed barricades up today while passing this bridge. I made some phone calls and confirmed with MDOT that it is now permanently closed to vehicle traffic. Simply put, it's structurally deficient and by the nature of its construction repairs are really not much of an option. Not too sure what the fate of the bridge will be as of yet but chances are time may be running out for this photo backdrop along the Holly Subdivision.
