The clearance at the center above mean high water is 152' (46.3m). Because of shortages of steel and funding, the construction of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge was delayed until after this bridge was completed. [nycroads]

GalvanizeIt This bridge is one of the country's longest continuous deck truss bridges. Its rehabilitation in 2000-02 included a new, wider deck that was made with hot-dip galvanized steel for lower maintenance costs. |
