Indeed, there is a canal boat offering rides. Lock #4 is in the background of this view.

Lock #5
I added Lock #5 when I found the canal boat to see how long the canal ride could be. Lock #5 is far enough away that the ride probably doesn't go that far. So once locks 2-4 lifted the canal out of the Rock Creek Valley, the canal could remain level for a good distance by adjusting how close it was to the Potomac River.

1909 Capital Crescent Trail/B&O Bridge
I found this while looking for Lock #5.

The main span crosses the C&O Canal and its towpath. The towpath is now a trail. The tree in the canal implies that the boat rides don't go this far.
