Peabody Coal (PCCX) and Kaskaskia Regional Port District (KRPD) Railroads

The PCCX connects its mines and the Baldwin Power Plant with two CN/IC routes. KRPD connects the Kaskaskia River Port District #1 with the PCCX.

I provide this map excerpt for context. The CN route between Freeburg and St Johns as the original IC and the CN route that goes through Baldwin to Percy was the GM&O/Mobile & Ohio route.

The vertical route between Lenzburg and Baldwin is the PCCX. It serves the Baldwin Power Plant (red rectangle) and the Peabody Randolfph Preparation Plant (yellow rectangle) for some Peabody Coal mines. The horizontal route is the KRPD between the Kaskaskia River Port District #1 and the PCCX.

The railroad had several different color schemes.

I came across this history of coal in Illinois while researching this railroad, and it is worth noting.
