Reading over Schuylkill River


Note the above Pennsy bridge in this background of this photo. This bridge looks like it used concrete girders.

Both abandoned Pennsy bridges have been made part of a trail.

This topo map shows the current configuration of the routes. 
1945/58 Auburn Quad @ 24,000

This map shows that Pennsy used to have a route closer to the river. The current route is higher up the hills to reduce the curves. It would also greatly reduce flood risk.
1891/91 Pottsville Quad @ 62,500
