Sheffield, Ohio Abandoned Lorain & West Virginia train trestle Built 1906 Spanning Black River Taken out of service due to flood 1969 Formally abandoned around 1979 Keith Baker: The line was used into the 70's to deliver poles to Ohio Edison on Lake Ave. In 1982 when the steel plant went down, NS stored empty pipe gons out over the bridge. I saw them moving cars out there once. |

The Nickel Plate cross the river three times in that area.
