The detour is six hours. [11:27 video @ 0:40] This is another bridge where T-1 steel has proven to be a booboo. It was used in bridges from 1959 to the 1970s. 64 bridges were built with T-1 steel.
10:41 video @ 1:561:56 183 defects. T1-steel bridges were supposed to be inspected by Apr 2024. So CDOT was late. And they are just now getting ready to inspect another T1-steel bridge. They plan to open a single lane after it is repaired and use a pilot vehicle to control the use of that lane. They hope to get the first lane open by Jul 4, 2024, and the second lane by late Fall 2024. |
