This video keeps showing two different dams, but based on a satellite image, I believe this is the Lake Lure Dam. This downstream view confirms the dam has a buttress design.

TownOfLakeLure The dam is owned by The Town of Lake Lure and its primary purpose is recreation. They do not generate power if there is a low water flow. They have 1.2mw and 2.2mw units. The electricity is sold to Duke Power. |
