This is not an old pin-connected truss bridge that has been downgraded to pedestrian use only, it was purpose built as a pedestrian bridge to provide access to Swinney Park on the east side. Consequently, it is low and narrow.

Since this is a recent photo, it must have been taken after reconstruction. It looks like they retained the lattice railings.

Judging by the flood gate in the flood wall, the deck can be inundated by high water.

In most of the satellite images, the trail is hidden by the trees. But I found this one that allows us to see the trail.

When they reconstructed the bridge, they moved the trail. I presume they added fill to the middle of the peninsula before they built the new trail on it.
