As with the
Hennepin Canal, the embankments for the bridge approaches have been removed. The raised bridges avoided the expense and hassle of lift bridge to clear the barges. The canal in this town still has water, but it has a weak flow through here. The weak flow is why we see so much algae on the water.
This topo map taught me to look for the aqueduct. To my surprise, it still had water.
