1887 CSX/PM Bridge over Grand River in Grand Ledge, MI

(Bridge HunterHistoric Bridges, 3D Satellite and Photos) This is the first Bridge Hunter bridge I have seen without any photos contributed. But Google has some nice pictures such as Fall Tracks.

This bridge was completed in 1887. [GrandLedgeHistory]

Grand Ledge, Michigan. This bridge is still in heavy usage on the CSX/CP mainline between Detroit and Grand Rapids.
This bridge was evidently completely rebuilt within 10 years of its construction because Historic Bridges points out that the current bridge has very little V-lacing whereas the 1888 photo shows it is built with either V-lacing members or tie bars. Again, Historic Bridges indicates the initial spans were dated 1887 whereas evidence of the rebuild points to 1905-09.

In 1891, the depot was moved across the bridge.
