The truss bridge is over the river. The span just beyond the buildings is the movable span over the canal. Since it is a Strauss Underneath Counterweight (SUC) bridge, we can't see the machinery, links and counterweight that raises the span.

Obviously, this postcard is a colorization of the same photo used by the artist for the postcard at the top of these notes.

The SUC bridge is over the same canal that still has a Strauss Overhead Counterweight bridge upstream of this bridge.
