Cermak Road Bridge, Revisited

Update: during one of my field trips downtown, I found the bridge stuck in the upright position.

I came across a repository of historic Chicago pictures today (see captions). I found three pictures of the Cermak Road Bridge. I'm putting them in a separate post because the original posting already had quite a few pictures and these should have pretty high resolution.

This indicates the 1997 rehabilitation was very extensive.

Judging by the equipment next to and on the bridge, this would be another scene from 1997.

  1. Ah the Spice Factory. This was 1997 during the bridge reconstruction. All sorts of artists were living there including myself. Best time I've had in my life.
