While studying Peabody Coal Mine #10, I noticed that on a topo map there was a specification of Normal Pool Elevation. That means there is a dam somewhere downstream from here.

I had some trouble finding the dam because the crest is curved, the spillway is small, and there is no visible river downstream of the dam.

The dam is owned by Kincaid Generation. It is a little scary that the foundation and core types are unknown. [NationalDams] In fact, the Hazard Potential is listed as High. [USlakes] But I don't know what the scale is for Hazard Potential. I presume there is a Medium and Low. But is there an Extreme rating? Or is High at the top of the scale?
Since they wanted to build Kincaid Generation as a mine mouth plant next to the tipple of Peabody #10, they evidently built this dam to turn a couple of creeks into a nearby cooling water supply. Note the channels that they dug so that the plant can draw water from the western creek and dump it into the eastern creek.
