Arch A. Moore was a governor of West Virginia. A ferry service was used until this bridge opened in 1986. "The completion of the Moundsville Bridge reduced traffic on the nearby tolled Bellaire Interstate Bridge by 50%, ultimately causing it to close to all traffic." [B&T]

It is officially named the Arch A. Moore Bridge after former West Virginia governor Arch A. Moore, Jr. More photos: http://bridgestunnels.com/location/moundsville-bridge/ |
That is a really heavy duty deck for a tied arch bridge.

"Main Span Record: 278" [MagaConstrucciones] A 278' span would be way too short for the Ohio River, so I presume that is 278 meters or 912', which is quite long.
