Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) and Western Maryland Overview

The Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) is a trail that now goes between Pittsburgh, PA, and Cumberland, MD. (In Cumberland, the GAP joins the C&O Canal Towpath Trail, which goes to Georgetown in Washington, DC.) Since a big part of that trail east of Connellsville, PA, is the abandoned Western Maryland, it makes sense to combine the overviews.

The segment of the abandoned Western Maryland between Frostburg and Cumberland is shared with the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad.

Western Maryland has a Historical Society.

BikeCandO-brush has angled (horizontal) maps of both trails.

Since I needed to retrofit a link to this overview in existing notes, I recorded what I have documented on the trail. The list is ordered from west to east.
