Alexander Hamilton Bridge is an open spandrel steel arch completed in 1963 and carries I-95. The Washington Bridge was completed in 1888. It was widely praised as exemplary work, and has an appearance that was ahead of its time.

A block-wide path was carved across Manhattan to connect the George Washington Bridge with this bridge. They then built some buildings over the expressway.

The lead joint-venture partner was a China company.

"The project was the largest contract from the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) at the time of award." The contract was $419m.
[I presume that means the steel was made in China.
At least some of the steel was evidently fabricated in America. [CanamBridges]

The eastbound ramp from I-95 to the Washington Bridge was built with steel box girders.
