1916 UP/C&NW Deering Bridge over North Branch

(Bridge Hunter, Historic Bridges, John Marvig3D Satellite, Birds-Eye View, Street View)

While taking pictures along Cortland Street, I noticed in the background what looked like a Strauss bridge. I was not aware of one north of the Kinzie Street RR Bridge. Thanks to a Google Photo, I learned this was the Deering Bridge. That made it easy to find the Bridge Hunter and Historic Bridges links above.

On a later field trip, I got some photos of the bridge.

I do concrete for a liveing "high rise buildings" Would have loved to see how they poured and set those concrete counter weights."

I could not find a link for Chuck's photo. But while I was looking for it, I found a couple more views.

At 9:31 in this video, the train starts its trip across this bridge. We first see the two counterweights in the upper corners.
