South Shore over Wabash and Pennsy

Marty Bernard posted Roger Puta's Feb. 10, 1963 photo of a South Shore (CSS&SB) 2-car train going over the Wabash and Pennsy in Gary, IN.

A satellite image shows that a track of the Wabash still exists as an industrial spur. Also, the trusses have been replaced by steel girders.

In fact, the birds-eye view indicates that some Pennsy track still existed several years ago.
