This bridge is just upstream from Lock #3.
This bridge has a more extensive description by HistoricBridges than the other lift bridges on the Welland Canal since they are of similar design. I recommend clicking the link at the top.

The Parker through truss vertical lift bridge carries Glendale Avenue (Regional Road 89) over the Welland Canal. It was built during the 1920s as part of the 4th Welland Canal expansion project (1913-1932). The Welland Canal connects Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. It is part of the St. Lawrence Seaway, crossing the Niagara Peninsula from Port Weller to Port Colborne, bypassing the Niagara River and Niagara Falls. It is officially known now as the Welland Ship Canal. |
