Buckingham Branch and Virginia Scenic Railroads

The 199 mile Richmond & Alleghany Division is a former C&O route between Richmond and Clifton Forge. I learned about it when studying the junction tower in Doswell, VA.

Buckingham Branch leases route from CSX. And this route is still jointed rail. [Jersey Mike's Rail Adventures]

The Buckingham Brand Railroad owns the Virginia Scenic Railway, which offers round-trip, 3-hour excursion rides from Staunton, VA. Each trip costs $120 in 2023. The Blue Ridge Flyer goes East through the 4,273' (1,302m) Blue Ridge Tunnel to Waynesboro. The Alleghany Special goes West to Goshen.
